Grandmothers Day and Slowfood Ireland

The well respected chef, Darina Allen's inspired idea to set up a Grandmothers Day became a reality on April 25th 2009. It is a lovely idea to create a focus for the passing on of skills from grandparents to grand children - cooking, gardening, carpentry, oral tradition and music. Darina Allen made reference to the project `Runner Beans to Playstation' as an excellent example of an inspired intergeneration food education project. This project was generously funded by UnLtd.
